Massage Therapy Treatment
Massage Therapy Treatment - A massage therapy treatment is a manipulation of the muscles, focusing on specific discomforts like increasing your limited range of motion, and releasing “knots” which is considered painful bulky tissue in an area. Our RMT’s may use massage techniques to perform deep tissue massage, trigger point work, and more. Many people describe it as uncomfortable but a “good pain” that helps to alleviate any restriction and discomfort. You may experience tenderness during and after the massage.
Relaxation Massage Therapy
Relaxation Massage Therapy - Promotes a general sense of relaxation. This massage is performed using Swedish techniques consisting of long, rhythmic strokes and small circular movements which help to break down adhesions and promote better circulation. Unlike deep tissue massages, a relaxation massage does not address the connective tissue of the muscles.

The lymphatic system is hard at work removing waste and toxins from the body’s tissues. However, certain conditions can cause lymph fluid to build up and cause puffiness, uncomfortable swelling, and even infection.
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) massage is frequently recommended during post-op following cosmetic surgery like liposuction and more. MLD is generally believed to decrease recovery time and improve results, by reducing post-surgical swelling and fibrosis (scar tissue formation). MLD accelerates the healing process by enhancing circulation and fluid flow in lymphatic vessels.
Myofascial Release ( MFR ) Massage Therapy
Clients with myofascial pain syndrome frequently benefit from this type of therapy. People who experience chronic headaches may also find relief from myofascial release. The pain usually originates from specific points within your myofascial tissues called “trigger points
This chronic pain disorder is caused by sensitivity and tightness in your myofascial tissues. These tissues surround and support the muscles throughout your body. Myofascial release focuses on reducing pain by easing the tension and tightness in the trigger points.
Your massage therapist will gently massage the myofascia and feel for stiff or tightened areas. Normal myofascia should feel pliable and elastic. The therapist will begin massaging and stretching the areas that feel rigid with light manual pressure. The therapist then aids the tissue and supportive sheath in releasing pressure and tightness. The process is repeated multiple times on the same trigger point and on other trigger points until the therapist feels the tension is fully released. - It is normal to feel some discomfort during the massage therapy treatment

Are you suffering from TMD or TMJ pain? What is the difference?
TMJ - refers to the temporomandibular joint, a hinge-like joint that connects your lower jaw to your skull.
TMD - refers to the various conditions and issues that can affect the functionality of the TMJ-Disorder.
Symptoms - jaw pain, joint sounds ( clicking, popping ) impaired jaw movement, muscle, and joint tenderness, headaches, tinnitus, cervical spine disorders, depression, poor sleep quality, and fatigue
Benefits of Massage for TMJ Disorder:
Prevent Headaches - jaw clenching can be brutal. A TMJ massage that properly works the masseter muscle and temporal muscle relieves jaw tension and makes future headaches less likely.
Treats Tinnitus - Prolonged TMJ tension can cause dizziness and ringing in the ears, known as “tinnitus.” Once those muscles and ligaments are more pliable, they’re less likely to cause that awful ringing in your ears.
Eases Toothaches - Clenching your teeth together tightly will likely cause them to hurt over time. However, trigger points in the masseter muscle are actually known to exacerbate toothaches, causing sharp pain in the lower molars. Clients can experience some relief only after they’ve had a TMJ massage.
Reduces Stress - TMJ pain is not the result of a chronic condition, but just plain, old stress. A massage around your jaw and head works wonders for letting go of pent-up stress and anxiety.
